I had never attended a civil ceremony before, much less photographed one! What a sweet and simple way to get married. Nancy and Howard were adorable.
The way the process works is you show up to the courthouse and wait in line to get married. It’s a little nerve-racking since you have to show up by a certain time and then they stop taking applicants after 45 minutes!
So, to avoid being turned down, Nancy and Howard arrived very early to find that they had to wait, and wait, and wait. I can’t tell you which image I like better of this moment, the color or the black and white!
Mom gives Howard a quick kiss before her baby boy gets married!
Thank you Howard and Nancy and family! You guys were so sweet and I was honored to be part of this unique wedding day.
Last year I talked about my sob story of how it was going to be the final year getting a family picture taken with Santa because ‘our’ Santa was retiring & the timing was right because my husband was tired of the Santa Picture (he’s been doing a Santa photo since birth!). So we agreed it best to leave it to our son Roman get his photo with the Big Guy from here on out.
… Well, that didn’t happen! At the very last minute, right before it was Roman’s turn to see Santa, I turned to Christopher and said, “I can’t stand it. I’ve got to have our picture with Santa!” So, of course, he obliged (probably not happily, but willingly). So that’s the story with this recent photo. ๐
At the salon, the close of the year brought me to something that I’ve been anticipating since the spring: Emily’s wedding!
The day finally came and her hair ended up looking stunning. We had been slowly transitioning her color from a strawberry blonde to a firey red. I think it went perfectly with her wedding attire and the holiday season. ๐
I stole a few of these photos off of Kelly Manno’s website to show off her hair:
It’s been nice to end the year with a bang!
Merry Christmas and see you next year!
Sarah and Chris came to me through Bellies and Babies Photography.
Can’t wait to find out what Sarah and Chris are having! I don’t know if I could turn my head away on “ultrasound gender day” but they are more strong-willed than I am!
Thank you Sarah and Chris for braving the cold with me! I’ll see you in a couple of months! ๐
You might recognize this family!
I was at Maddox’s first birthday party and little Lola was just featured on my blog a few months ago as a newborn. This family is dear to my heart and are friends of mine. Maddox and my son are the same age and I have dreams they’ll grow up to be great buddies. ๐
I was happy to come to their house for this winter family photo session. I’m finding that it’s a comforting atmosphere for the kids to be photographed at home …plus, they had great natural light available, so everyone wins!
