Roman’s Writing

We’ve been told that for a 4 year old, Roman has really nice handwriting.

He should.

This kid LOVES to write. and spell. and read.

Ok, enough bragging from me. The one thing we have noticed is that he hasn’t gotten the hang of his spaces between words yet.

I tell people he’s practicing his hashtags. 🙂

For example:

#Foodmilkstrawberryjellycheesepickleicecreambroccoli

#grocerylist

#mommasacommedian

This writing kick he’s on has been initiated completely on his own. It’s really fun to see him run from room to room and grab magazines or books so he can find the help he needs to spell a word.

…And then he gets to work printing it out.

Happy Birthday, Darren!

Roman loves his friends. This message is genuine, but without punctuation, I guess it’s kinda hard to tell. 🙂

Milo takes no interest in writing. Being 2 years younger, he’ll zoom around the house with a car or bouncing a ball. Occasionally, He’ll stop by Roman to investigate what he’s doing and then back to his ‘busy-boy’ shenanigans.

Since the beginning of the month, I’ve been waiting for this page to make it to our wall of art work but Roman discovered something on the back: a worksheet… and he’s just not finished yet.

He adds to the list his reasons for being thankful day by day. Truly coming up with these on his own, you can see what his focus is: Jesus and decorating Christmas trees. They both get mentioned several times.

And again, without the punctuation, the sentences are pretty funny:

1. that we give prsents

2. that we can make snowmen

3. that we can listen to music fun

…Translation: That we can listen to music. Fun!

4. that we can make a christmas tree

5 jesus is born on christmas day

6. jesus is born in bethlehem good

…Translation: Jesus is born in Bethlehem. Good!

7. family mom thought of that

…Translation: Family. (Mom thought of that)

8.that a child has been born

9.that we can open prsents fun

…Translation: That we can open presents. Fun!

10.that we can go to church

11. that we can decorate that christmas tree

12. that we can play christmas games

13. its christmas yay ya yay yaaaaaaaaaaaay

….Translation: It’s Christmas! Yay! Ya! Yay! YaaaaaaaaaaaaaY! (He get’s his enthusiasim from me.)

Don’t ask me what the backward checkmarks are for. Or the big X through the letter “W”.  I’m sure he’s got his reasons.

And the “I love Christmas” at the top of the list just caps the whole project off perfectly.

All these items are already treasured. I can’t imagine how I’ll feel one day when I run across a “grocery list” or a ‘thankful list’ he’s made and it will bring me back to the time when I thought he was so little but getting big so so fast.

I just heart my boys. Big time.

Couldn’t imagine my life without these guys. The holidays make their presence extra special.

I hope you’ve got someone in your life that brings you joy this holiday season.

Merry Christmas!

….Oh, and and Happy Birthday, Jesus!
